The people behind Beyond the Boards are DFW hockey families, coaches, and community leaders who give their time to keep kids on the ice.
Co-Founder
Hannah Gustafson
Hannah is a hockey wife who has seen firsthand how many kids are turned away from the opportunity to play the game she loves. She believes youth sports offer children far more than the ability to compete — they build character, discipline, and community. With a background in sports marketing and a deep understanding of how sports programs and organizations operate from the business side, Hannah brought both the vision and the framework to build something that truly serves DFW families. She remains deeply dedicated to helping families give their kids opportunities that can propel them through life.

Shelby Oelrich
As a hockey parent, Shelby believes every child deserves the opportunity to experience the friendships, confidence, discipline, and joy that hockey brings, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. She's been in the position of trying to make it all work, and she wants to help other families who find themselves in that same place. With a professional background in legal administration and financial contract coordination, she brings experience in financial management, organization, contract administration, and operations to her role on the board. She's proud to help make that possible.
